Emma Quay

• As a young child, Emma Quay made tiny books from any scrap of paper she could find and hid them under her pillow. These days, families share her picture books at bedtime and Emma loves to hear stories of children falling asleep with a few tucked under their own pillows, ready for the morning.

  Emma Quay is an author-illustrator of many award-winning books for children; her memorable characters for Rudie Nudie, My Sunbeam Baby, Bear and Chook, Good Night, Me, Shrieking Violet and Baby Bedtime are favourites on children’s bookshelves all over Australia. Emma works from a studio in her home and sometimes feels like she barely leaves it, but her work is held in collections around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
