Charlene Chua

• Charlene Chua (she/they) has illustrated many things over the years for kids of all ages. She is the illustrator of the Stonewall Award book LOVE, VIOLET (Charlotte Sullivan Wild, FSG). Other books they have illustrated have been nominated for the Blue Spruce, Silver Birch Express, Shining Willow, and Kirkus Best books.

  Charlene is the author/illustrator of HUG? (Kids Can Press, 2020)

  Charlene was born and grew up in Singapore, and moved to Canada in 2007. When they are not making art, they enjoy cooking, reading, and playing with their cats. She now lives with her husband in Hamilton, Ontario.
